MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians)

In 2009, Cycling4Gaza’s first year, we joined efforts with MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians) to raise funds for their healthcare projects in Gaza. These included emergency maternal and newborn healthcare, specialist burns care training, and training staff in primary trauma care. We raised a total of £90,000 for MAP.

MAP is a UK-registered charity that works for the health of Palestinians in conditions of occupation, displacement and exile based on principles of self-determination and social justice.

The Welfare Association

In 2010, Cycling4Gaza supported the Welfare Association and its early childhood education projects in Gaza. We raised over £130,000 for 3 partner organisations of the Welfare’s doing critical work to ensure the quality of education for Gazan chidlren. For more information on these projects, click here.

The Welfare Association is a UK registered charity established in 1993 to support the most vulnerable Palestinian communities with sustainable development programmes and emergency aid . The Welfare Association works with Palestinian communities in Gaza, the West Bank, and in refugee camps in Lebanon.

We will continue to work with the Welfare Association in 2011, this time with a particular focus on Community Rehabilitation programmes (more details coming soon).
